Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall
B-
ValueB

FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Steelers: B-. Every other box got a look, but interior defensive lineman did not. The Steelers will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
The Mateer reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Getting Tyson where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
Job largely done: quarterback settled and 2 of 9 of the wish list covered. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick21
Rnd1
Jordyn Tyson
In Round 1, Pick 21 they get a home-run threat at receiver, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick53
Rnd2
John Mateer
They left a pile of value on the table to take John Mateer this early at the 53rd overall pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
