Lostboyrufio DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks
Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
B

FutureB-
The Seahawks cashed the board's mistake on Lawson: B. There is a lot to like until you notice edge rusher is still a hole. The Seahawks never got to the one that mattered most.
Lawson at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick32
Rnd1
Jermod McCoy
In pick 32 they get a press-man option on the boundary at a price that makes it sweeter.
Pick64
Rnd2
Omar Cooper Jr.
Omar Cooper Jr. at the Round 2 slot is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick96
Rnd3
Deontae Lawson
Taking Deontae Lawson in No. 96 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick211
Rnd6
Kaelon Black
Kaelon Black at the 211th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It fills a real need, too.
