Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Cardinals for Thompson: B.

The Cardinals did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Brenen Thompson fell into the 104th overall pick. The bottom line is a respectable B.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. They will need Moss to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with quarterback the one that mattered most.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Francis Mauigoa
They took Francis Mauigoa at par in pick No. 3, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick34 Rnd2 Colton Hood
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Colton Hood at Round 2, Pick 2. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick65 Rnd3 Kamari Ramsey
Kamari Ramsey at No. 65 is a conviction pick that outran the value. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick104 Rnd4 Brenen Thompson
Brenen Thompson at pick 104 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick141 Rnd5 Chris McClellan
Nice patience on Chris McClellan, who had no business lasting to the 141st overall pick. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick181 Rnd6 Matt Gulbin
Matt Gulbin in the Round 6 slot is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick217 Rnd7 Miller Moss
They went early on Miller Moss in the 217th pick, and the value did not follow. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
