There is reaching, and then there is Jaden Shirden at pick No. 239. The Saints jumped the board by 44 and dared it to prove them wrong. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. On value alone, McCaffrey makes the weekend a net positive.

Job largely done: cornerback settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered. They chose more darts over a bigger single swing.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
