Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
Larceny in the 70th overall pick lands the Browns a B-, Savaiinaea and all.

You build a draft on nights like this. Jonah Savaiinaea had no business being available in Round 3, Pick 6, and the Browns did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. The cost of the Igbinosun reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.

Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Mason Graham
In slot 8 they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher. A real need, handled.
Pick39 Rnd2 Jalen Milroe
A reach on Jalen Milroe in Round 2, Pick 7; the board had better options right there. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick70 Rnd3 Jonah Savaiinaea
Jonah Savaiinaea in No. 70 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick91 Rnd3 Elic Ayomanor
Elic Ayomanor in pick No. 91 is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick106 Rnd4 Kevin Winston Jr.
Nice patience on Kevin Winston Jr., who had no business lasting to pick 106. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick179 Rnd6 Davison Igbinosun
A premium they did not need to pay, Davison Igbinosun a notch or two before his time. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick186 Rnd6 Samuel Brown
Good price on Samuel Brown in the Round 6 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick201 Rnd6 Jaishawn Barham
Taking Jaishawn Barham in the 201st pick is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick215 Rnd7 Xzavier Henderson
A quiet steal in No. 215: Xzavier Henderson for less than the market said. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick216 Rnd7 Kyren Lacy
Kyren Lacy in the 216th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
