Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the 49ers for Bassa: B.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Jeffrey Bassa tumbling to the 49ers in the 254th pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

The Batty pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick11 Rnd1 Will Campbell
A straight-up fair deal on Will Campbell at slot 11, value and slot in agreement. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick43 Rnd2 Kenneth Grant
A tidy bit of business in the 43rd pick, where Kenneth Grant graded well above the range. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick75 Rnd3 Tyler Warren
Tyler Warren at pick 75 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick100 Rnd3 Jake Majors
Jake Majors at the Round 3 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick112 Rnd4 Danny Stutsman
They barely believed it either: Danny Stutsman still on the board at Round 4, Pick 11. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick137 Rnd4 Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo in the 137th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick186 Rnd6 Tyler Batty
They reached into another round for Tyler Batty, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick221 Rnd7 Jordan Hancock
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Jordan Hancock in No. 221, plain and simple. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick230 Rnd7 Jay Toia
A real head-scratcher, Jay Toia in slot 230 is miles ahead of his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick249 Rnd7 Nick Nash
No edge and no loss on Nick Nash in Round 7, Pick 33; it is a wash and a sensible one. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick254 Rnd7 Jeffrey Bassa
Somehow Jeffrey Bassa was still sitting there in pick No. 254, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
