The board owed the 49ers one, and it paid up: Chau Smith-Wade, the No. 175 name on the board, sitting there at pick No. 211 like a gift left on the doorstep. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Wallace reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
