Nobody dealt better than the Vikings this weekend: B. The Vikings ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. Every board in the league had Scott lower, and that gap is the story. That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Caleb Downs
In the 4th pick they get an enforcer at safety at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick36
Rnd2
Jermod McCoy
Jermod McCoy in the 36th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick50
Rnd2
Eli Stowers
By-the-book stuff, Eli Stowers at No. 50 squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick139
Rnd5
Xavier Scott
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Xavier Scott. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick208
Rnd6
Rico Flores Jr.
They took Rico Flores Jr. at par in pick No. 208, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick231
Rnd7
Jack Velling
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jack Velling at pick 231. The roster fit checks out.
