Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall

FutureB-
The Vikings won the night they stopped Monangai from sliding. Grade: B+. You could see the war room lean forward. Kyle Monangai at pick No. 251 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They will need Conner to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Safety was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick33
Rnd2
Tyler Warren
Tyler Warren slid further than he should have, and No. 33 is lovely value for the tight end. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick56
Rnd2
TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson in slot 56 is fair value, right on his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick59
Rnd2
Xavier Watts
They read the board right and Xavier Watts was the payoff at pick 59. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick94
Rnd3
Charles Grant
Charles Grant in Round 3, Pick 30 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick96
Rnd3
Gunnar Helm
Nothing to complain about; Gunnar Helm went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick179
Rnd6
Nick Nash
They robbed the room for Nick Nash here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It fills a real need, too.
Pick187
Rnd6
CJ West
By-the-book stuff, CJ West at the 187th pick squarely in line with his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick241
Rnd7
Alijah Huzzie
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Alijah Huzzie in the 241st overall pick, plain and simple. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick244
Rnd7
Jermari Harris
They let Jermari Harris come to them and pounced at Round 7, Pick 28. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick245
Rnd7
Hayden Conner
Hayden Conner in slot 245 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick251
Rnd7
Kyle Monangai
They will replay Kyle Monangai at the Round 7 slot for years; that is how good the value is. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick257
Rnd7
Teddye Buchanan
Good price on Teddye Buchanan in the 257th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
