FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Vikings: B-. Nobody had Hollin Pierce this high, and it is not close. The Vikings reached 41 spots to get him at the Round 3 slot.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. However the rest shakes out, Loveland at that price is a win they earned. The trade work was a quiet net positive.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick37
Rnd2
Colston Loveland
Colston Loveland at Round 2, Pick 5 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick68
Rnd3
Carson Schwesinger
By-the-book stuff, Carson Schwesinger at No. 68 squarely in line with his ranking. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick97
Rnd3
Hollin Pierce
A real head-scratcher, Hollin Pierce in the Round 3 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick108
Rnd4
Zy Alexander
Zy Alexander at the 108th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick139
Rnd5
Malachi Moore
Malachi Moore in slot 139 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick187
Rnd6
Jarquez Hunter
They took Jarquez Hunter at par in pick No. 187, which is nothing to complain about. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick215
Rnd6
Nazir Stackhouse
Nazir Stackhouse at Round 6, Pick 39 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the interior defensive lineman. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
