Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall

The Vikings let Greathouse fall and pounced. Final grade: A-. Somebody in the 157th pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Vikings sat still while Jaden Greathouse, the No. 109 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. This is how you run a draft, and the A- reflects it.
Washington II has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Bottom line, with Caleb Downs leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
Pick Analysis
Pick7
Rnd1
Caleb Downs
Caleb Downs at No. 7 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick49
Rnd2
Jeremiyah Love
They robbed the room for Jeremiyah Love here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick81
Rnd3
Connor Lew
A slide stopped in the 81st overall pick, with Connor Lew worth more than the price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick157
Rnd5
Jaden Greathouse
Steal is underselling it; Jaden Greathouse at the Round 5 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick173
Rnd5
Elliot Washington II
Elliot Washington II at Round 5, Pick 35 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick208
Rnd6
Ethan O'Connor
Ethan O'Connor at slot 208 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick220
Rnd7
Jack Velling
A tidy little value on Jack Velling in pick 220, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick239
Rnd7
Jeremiah Cobb
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jeremiah Cobb in the 239th pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
