Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB- TradesA+ FutureB-
The Vikings cashed the board's mistake on Restrepo: B+.

Whoever sat across the table from the Vikings should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.

On value alone, Restrepo makes the weekend a net positive. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Reaching for Pierce left real value on the table behind him.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick39 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Steal is underselling it; Nick Emmanwori at pick No. 39 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick42 Rnd2 Colston Loveland
Colston Loveland is a better player than the Round 2 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick46 Rnd2 Alfred Collins
Alfred Collins at the 46th overall pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The roster fit checks out.
Pick71 Rnd3 Maxwell Hairston
A straight-up fair deal on Maxwell Hairston at Round 3, Pick 7, value and slot in agreement. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick99 Rnd3 Jared Wilson
They took Jared Wilson at par in pick 99, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick120 Rnd4 Hollin Pierce
A wild overpay on Hollin Pierce in No. 120, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick128 Rnd4 Xavier Restrepo
You do not let a wide receiver like Xavier Restrepo reach Round 4, Pick 26 and blink. They did not. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick130 Rnd4 LeQuint Allen
No drama and no debate, LeQuint Allen went about where he belonged in pick 130. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick143 Rnd5 Malachi Moore
They did well to land Malachi Moore in slot 143, just ahead of his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick145 Rnd5 Nohl Williams
Nohl Williams in No. 145 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick162 Rnd5 James Burnip
James Burnip in the 162nd overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick186 Rnd6 CJ West
By-the-book stuff, CJ West at pick No. 186 squarely in line with his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick194 Rnd6 Upton Stout
Nothing to complain about; Upton Stout went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick205 Rnd6 Jay Higgins
No edge and no loss on Jay Higgins in the Round 6 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick213 Rnd6 Addison West
Addison West in No. 213 is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick215 Rnd6 Woody Marks
A running back of that caliber at the Round 6 slot is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick235 Rnd7 Jermari Harris
Jermari Harris in pick 235 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick245 Rnd7 Teddye Buchanan
They paid sticker price for Teddye Buchanan in Round 7, Pick 29, and that is fine. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
