There is reaching, and then there is Jalen Travis at Round 7, Pick 24. The Vikings jumped the board by 47 and dared it to prove them wrong. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.

They banked enough surplus on Horton to cover a lot of smaller sins. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. They will answer for taking cornerback early while edge rusher went begging.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
