Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall

FutureC+
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Vikings: B. There is a lot to like until you notice quarterback is still a hole. The Vikings never got to the one that mattered most. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
Perkins has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick5
Rnd1
Caleb Downs
In No. 5 they get a rangy last line of defense. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick52
Rnd2
Eli Stowers
No edge and no loss on Eli Stowers in slot 52; it is a wash and a sensible one. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick56
Rnd2
Suntarine Perkins
A reach on Suntarine Perkins in pick No. 56; the board had better options right there. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick69
Rnd3
Connor Lew
Connor Lew at the 69th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick208
Rnd6
Elliot Washington II
Nothing to complain about; Elliot Washington II went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick229
Rnd7
Jeremiah Cobb
Jeremiah Cobb in the Round 7 slot is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
