Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
The Vikings turned the phones into found money: B+.

Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Vikings came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. It does the job without flash, and the B+ reflects it.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. With quarterback, edge rusher and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on cornerback is the choice that costs them. The Slaughter pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.

The Vikings paired the rookies with proven help, Nick Bolton leading the way.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Jeremiyah Love
In pick No. 12 they get a bell-cow for the offense. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick48 Rnd2 Jake Slaughter
The board had Jake Slaughter higher than the Round 2 slot, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick74 Rnd3 Eli Stowers
Eli Stowers at Round 3, Pick 10 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick97 Rnd3 Julian Neal
They did well to land Julian Neal in the 97th pick, just ahead of his grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick117 Rnd4 D'Angelo Ponds
They bypassed pressing needs at quarterback, edge rusher and other spots to take D'Angelo Ponds, a cornerback that was not the priority.
Pick120 Rnd4 Jack Endries
Jack Endries slid further than he should have, and pick 120 is lovely value for the tight end. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick156 Rnd5 Iapani Laloulu
Iapani Laloulu in slot 156 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick169 Rnd5 Jacob Rodriguez
Good price on Jacob Rodriguez in No. 169, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick175 Rnd5 Davison Igbinosun
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 175 with a little surplus value in Davison Igbinosun. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick206 Rnd6 Dane Key
Fair-plus on Dane Key, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick227 Rnd7 DeAndre Moore Jr.
DeAndre Moore Jr. at the Round 7 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick229 Rnd7 Jordan Castell
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jordan Castell. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick237 Rnd7 Trey Zuhn III
A reasonable price with a little left over, Trey Zuhn III in pick 237. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
