The Vikings won the night they stopped Slaughter from sliding. Grade: B.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Vikings were there to profit. Jake Slaughter, the No. 38 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 229th pick. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

The Delane pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback and tight end still on the board. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
