Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesC+ FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Vikings.

The rest of the league had time to spare on Dominic Zvada; the Vikings did not wait, grabbing him 47 spots ahead at pick No. 236. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. On value alone, Kanak makes the weekend a net positive. Safety was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick15 Rnd1 Caleb Downs
In No. 15 they get a two-high chess piece, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick47 Rnd2 Anthony Hill Jr.
They did well to land Anthony Hill Jr. in the Round 2 slot, just ahead of his grade. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick79 Rnd3 Ian Strong
Ian Strong in the 79th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick110 Rnd4 Logan Jones
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Logan Jones well ahead of where he belonged. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick171 Rnd5 Davison Igbinosun
A reasonable price with a little left over, Davison Igbinosun in slot 171. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick211 Rnd6 Amare Campbell
A premium they did not need to pay, Amare Campbell a notch or two before his time. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick216 Rnd7 Bear Alexander
Bear Alexander in the 216th overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick225 Rnd7 Jaren Kanak
Jaren Kanak slid further than he should have, and pick No. 225 is lovely value for the tight end. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick229 Rnd7 Elliot Washington II
Elliot Washington II at the Round 7 slot is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick236 Rnd7 Dominic Zvada
This one needs a full-page explanation: Dominic Zvada in pick 236, miles early. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
