Thirty-one other rooms let Arvell Reese slide, and the Vikings were the ones holding the card at the 44th overall pick. Highway robbery. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.

For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Jonathan Taylor deal gives the class an established piece to lean on. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.

The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
