GARRYR999 DRAFTING FOR THEPackers

Draft Grade — Packers
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB
TradesB
FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Packers a B-. The Packers treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending pick 148 on Khristian Boyd a full 30 spots early. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
The Taylor-Demerson pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at quarterback, wide receiver and other spots. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Quantity was the play, for better or worse.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Quinyon Mitchell
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get an island corner. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick44
Rnd2
Darius Robinson
Darius Robinson in No. 44 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick58
Rnd2
Kamren Kinchens
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Kamren Kinchens. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick88
Rnd3
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Dadrion Taylor-Demerson at safety with quarterback, wide receiver and other spots open.
Pick91
Rnd3
Caelen Carson
Caelen Carson at slot 91 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick112
Rnd4
Matt Goncalves
No edge and no loss on Matt Goncalves in pick 112; it is a wash and a sensible one. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick126
Rnd4
Mason McCormick
This one needs a full-page explanation: Mason McCormick in Round 4, Pick 26, miles early. It fills a real need, too.
Pick148
Rnd5
Khristian Boyd
Khristian Boyd at No. 148 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick169
Rnd5
Tanor Bortolini
They left a pile of value on the table to take Tanor Bortolini this early at the 169th overall pick. The roster fit checks out.
Pick202
Rnd6
Myles Harden
By-the-book stuff, Myles Harden at pick 202 squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick219
Rnd6
Jordan Magee
No drama and no debate, Jordan Magee went about where he belonged in the 219th pick. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick245
Rnd7
Rasheen Ali
A premium they did not need to pay, Rasheen Ali a notch or two before his time. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick255
Rnd7
LaDarius Henderson
Nothing to complain about; LaDarius Henderson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
