Moore should have been long gone. The Commanders pounced, and earned a B.

Call it larceny. Malachi Moore sat on the board until pick 130, and the Commanders did not need to be asked twice. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

You do not let a wide receiver like Emeka Egbuka reach pick No. 34 and blink. They did not. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.

They paid sticker price for Josh Simmons in the 66th overall pick, and that is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.

A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Donovan Jackson. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick98 Rnd4 Noah Thomas
Noah Thomas in the 98th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick130 Rnd5 Malachi Moore
A safety of that caliber at slot 130 is the definition of value, full stop. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick162 Rnd6 Akheem Mesidor
Akheem Mesidor in the Round 6 slot is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.
Pick183 Rnd6 Xavian Sorey Jr.
A clean, defensible pick in pick 183 with a little surplus value in Xavian Sorey Jr.. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
