If confidence were a draft strategy, the 49ers would have aced it. Duce Robinson at No. 133 is 29 spots clear of where he belonged. The final tally is a middling C+.

The 49ers indulged a want in Shuler while a need in running back, quarterback and other spots stayed open. They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
