Best value of the weekend goes to the Commanders for Ransom: B. This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Lathan Ransom, the No. 107 name on the board, stolen at the Round 6 slot. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
They will need Thornton Jr. to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick29
Rnd1
Josh Simmons
In pick 29 they get a building block for the line, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick61
Rnd2
TreVeyon Henderson
A reasonable price with a little left over, TreVeyon Henderson in No. 61. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick128
Rnd4
Dont'e Thornton Jr.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Dont'e Thornton Jr.. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick205
Rnd6
Lathan Ransom
They will replay Lathan Ransom at Round 6, Pick 29 for years; that is how good the value is. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick248
Rnd7
Karene Reid
They barely believed it either: Karene Reid still on the board at the Round 7 slot. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
