The Texans cashed the board's mistake on Neal: D.

The Texans clearly saw something nobody else did in Logan Brown, taking him 53 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. The math is unkind, and the D follows.

On value alone, Neal makes the weekend a net positive. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close.

They will answer for taking safety early while interior defensive lineman, quarterback and other spots went begging. They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and interior defensive lineman is still a hole.
