The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Bears reached some 70 spots for Storm Duck, and value like that does not grow back.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. The veteran additions, Jalen Pitre chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
