The Browns spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Lathan Ransom, the No. 107 name on the board, in pick No. 179.

Every board in the league had McLaughlin lower, and that gap is the story. The phones were where this weekend was really won. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
