Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Packers
Overall
B
ValueB+
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Packers, and a B to prove it. The Packers clearly saw something nobody else did in Carter Bradley, taking him 39 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
Getting Pearsall where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Quinyon Mitchell
In the 25th pick they get a ballhawk on the outside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick41
Rnd2
JC Latham
A offensive lineman of that caliber at Round 2, Pick 9 is the definition of value, full stop. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick58
Rnd2
Jordan Morgan
Circle this one: Jordan Morgan at the 58th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick88
Rnd3
Ricky Pearsall
Steal is underselling it; Ricky Pearsall at pick No. 88 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick91
Rnd3
Max Melton
They read the board right and Max Melton was the payoff at pick 91. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick126
Rnd4
Roger Rosengarten
Roger Rosengarten at No. 126 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It fills a real need, too.
Pick169
Rnd5
Dylan Laube
A slide stopped in slot 169, with Dylan Laube worth more than the price. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick202
Rnd6
Malik Mustapha
Malik Mustapha in the 202nd overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick219
Rnd6
Curtis Jacobs
Curtis Jacobs in pick 219 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick245
Rnd7
Trevin Wallace
Trevin Wallace in Round 7, Pick 25 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick255
Rnd7
Carter Bradley
They reached into another round for Carter Bradley, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
