Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB+ TradesA FutureB
The Ravens let Smith-Wade fall and pounced. Final grade: B+.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Ravens watched Chau Smith-Wade slide 25 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick51 Rnd2 Chris Braswell
Chris Braswell in the Round 2 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick64 Rnd2 Cooper DeJean
They did well to land Cooper DeJean in the 64th pick, just ahead of his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick83 Rnd3 McKinnley Jackson
No edge and no loss on McKinnley Jackson in slot 83; it is a wash and a sensible one. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick95 Rnd3 Tyleik Williams
Tyleik Williams at pick 95 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick100 Rnd3 Braelon Allen
Braelon Allen at Round 3, Pick 37 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick119 Rnd4 Blake Fisher
Fair-plus on Blake Fisher, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick132 Rnd4 Jalen McMillan
Jalen McMillan at pick No. 132 is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick169 Rnd5 Malik Mustapha
Malik Mustapha in the 169th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick253 Rnd7 Chau Smith-Wade
Chau Smith-Wade at the 253rd overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
