Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Dolphins spent the Round 1 slot on Avery Johnson, a name most had 255 spots down the list. Too much went sideways, and the D is the honest tally.
Avery Johnson is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
