You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Seahawks did exactly that with Jayson Jones in the 216th overall pick. A weekend to file away and forget, and an F to match.

Everything downstream of Bo Nix depends on Bo Nix, and the building knows it. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped linebacker, which is a strange place to end up.

The Smith pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at linebacker. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.

There is no soft landing here: they fought the board and left linebacker open, and the grade is the bill.
