Draft Grade — Browns
Overall
B+
ValueA-
NeedB
TradesB+
FutureB+
The Browns let Ulofoshio fall and pounced. Final grade: B+. The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Browns watched Edefuan Ulofoshio slide 52 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. If Rogers pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
The trade work was a quiet net positive. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick68
Rnd3
Keon Coleman
Somehow Keon Coleman was still sitting there in the 68th pick, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick86
Rnd3
Kingsley Suamataia
Kingsley Suamataia at Round 3, Pick 23 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick115
Rnd4
Khyree Jackson
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Khyree Jackson at No. 115 is the proof. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick131
Rnd4
Audric Estime
Audric Estime in pick 131 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick138
Rnd5
Sataoa Laumea
Value with a capital V on Sataoa Laumea in pick No. 138, a genuine coup. It fills a real need, too.
Pick139
Rnd5
Justin Rogers
They left a pile of value on the table to take Justin Rogers this early at the 139th overall pick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick164
Rnd5
Ty'Ron Hopper
A quiet steal in slot 164: Ty'Ron Hopper for less than the market said. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick204
Rnd6
Edefuan Ulofoshio
A linebacker of that caliber at the Round 6 slot is the definition of value, full stop. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick210
Rnd6
Jared Wiley
Jared Wiley slipping to pick 210 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick231
Rnd7
De'Corian Clark
De'Corian Clark in slot 231 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
