Draft Grade — Browns

FutureA
Franklin should have been long gone. The Browns pounced, and earned a B. The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Troy Franklin, Round 5, Pick 20, roughly 130 picks past where he belonged.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick86
Rnd3
Keon Coleman
Keon Coleman in slot 86 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick120
Rnd4
Malachi Corley
You do not let a wide receiver like Malachi Corley reach the 120th overall pick and blink. They did not. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick138
Rnd5
Javon Foster
A slide stopped in Round 5, Pick 2, with Javon Foster worth more than the price. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick156
Rnd5
Troy Franklin
The board fumbled Troy Franklin all the way to pick 156, and they scooped it up. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick205
Rnd6
Josh Proctor
Josh Proctor at the 205th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick208
Rnd6
JD Bertrand
JD Bertrand at pick No. 208 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick220
Rnd6
Andru Phillips
Andru Phillips at the Round 6 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
