The Chiefs got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the B-.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Chiefs shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

Moore has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Wheatley at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Good price on Sonny Styles in the 40th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.

Olaivavega Ioane in pick 43 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.

No edge and no loss on Max Klare in the Round 2 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.

Quietly one of the better values of the day, Malachi Fields at pick No. 91. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.

No drama and no debate, Zachariah Branch went about where he belonged in the 109th overall pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.

A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on J.C. Davis. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.

A quiet steal in Round 5, Pick 38: Aamil Wagner for less than the market said. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.

Quinten Joyner at slot 189 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
