Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Quinshon Judkins got past him. The Steelers do not have to explain a thing at pick No. 161. The math is unkind, and the D follows.

Reaching for Sheppard left real value on the table behind him. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.
