Draft Grade — Giants
Overall A-
ValueC- NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureA+
The Giants won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: A-.

The Giants spent real capital to be 90 picks early on Tyler Baron, and the board is going to hold them to it. Little to argue with here, and the A- says so.

The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The Giants paired the rookies with proven help, Matthew Stafford leading the way.

In the end it comes back to Donovan Jackson, and a haul good enough to build on right away.

Pick Analysis
Pick34 Rnd2 Donovan Jackson
Value said wait; Donovan Jackson in No. 34 says they were not listening. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick45 Rnd2 Tyleik Williams
Good price on Tyleik Williams in pick 45, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick65 Rnd3 Tyler Baron
Tyler Baron at the Round 3 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick80 Rnd3 Quinshon Judkins
They read the board right and Quinshon Judkins was the payoff at the 80th pick. It fills a real need, too.
Pick99 Rnd3 Kevin Winston Jr.
Kevin Winston Jr. at the 99th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick105 Rnd4 Tez Johnson
Nothing to complain about; Tez Johnson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick154 Rnd5 Jake Briningstool
They liked Jake Briningstool enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 154. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick219 Rnd7 Caleb Rogers
Caleb Rogers in the 219th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick246 Rnd7 Teddye Buchanan
They paid sticker price for Teddye Buchanan in slot 246, and that is fine. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
