Gavvo888 DRAFTING FOR THEPatriots
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall
B

FutureB-
The Patriots checked most of the boxes and earned a B. The tape said wait; the Patriots did not. Jude Bowry went at the 95th overall pick, a good 25 picks before the board was ready.
Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Chris Bell
In pick 31 they get a difference-maker at receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick63
Rnd2
A.J. Haulcy
Nothing to complain about; A.J. Haulcy went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick95
Rnd3
Jude Bowry
A big swing on Jude Bowry at the Round 3 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick125
Rnd4
Eli Raridon
Eli Raridon in the 125th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick131
Rnd4
Mike Washington Jr.
Mike Washington Jr. at Round 4, Pick 31 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
