Gavvo888 DRAFTING FOR THEBuccaneers
Draft Grade — Buccaneers
Overall
B-
ValueC+
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Buccaneers: B-. You can draft well and still miss the point. The Buccaneers did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to interior defensive lineman, which was the need that mattered most.
The Lawrence pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. However the rest shakes out, Klare at that price is a win they earned. They went 2 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Romello Height
In pick 15 they get a bendy edge with upside, though they paid up to get him.
Pick46
Rnd2
CJ Allen
Quietly one of the better values of the day, CJ Allen at No. 46. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick77
Rnd3
Max Klare
Max Klare at slot 77 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick116
Rnd4
Malachi Lawrence
Malachi Lawrence in the 116th overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
