Gavvo888 DRAFTING FOR THEBengals
Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Bengals a B-. You can draft well and still miss the point. The Bengals did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to tight end, which was the need that mattered most.
They are betting Jackson Jr. proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick10
Rnd1
Spencer Fano
In pick 10 they get protection for the quarterback. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick41
Rnd2
Elijah Sarratt
A straight-up fair deal on Elijah Sarratt at the 41st pick, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick72
Rnd3
Darrell Jackson Jr.
They paid up for Darrell Jackson Jr. at pick No. 72 when waiting would have done the job. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick110
Rnd4
Xavier Scott
Xavier Scott in Round 4, Pick 10 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
