Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall

FutureB-
Klare should have been long gone. The Dolphins pounced, and earned a D-. The Dolphins lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. A D- that will need time and luck to look better.
A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. They will answer for taking cornerback early while edge rusher went begging.
Reaching for McClellan left real value on the table behind him. However the rest shakes out, Klare at that price is a win they earned.
It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
Kadyn Proctor
A straight-up fair deal on Kadyn Proctor at slot 11, value and slot in agreement. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick40
Rnd2
Brandon Cisse
Brandon Cisse at No. 40 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick41
Rnd2
Dillon Thieneman
Nothing to complain about; Dillon Thieneman went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick43
Rnd2
Emmanuel Pregnon
Good price on Emmanuel Pregnon in pick 43, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick73
Rnd3
Max Klare
Max Klare at the 73rd pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The roster fit checks out.
Pick75
Rnd3
Jadarian Price
They will replay Jadarian Price at the 75th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick77
Rnd3
Malachi Fields
Malachi Fields at pick No. 77 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick87
Rnd3
Zachariah Branch
A clean, defensible pick in the 87th overall pick with a little surplus value in Zachariah Branch. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick93
Rnd3
Devin Moore
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went cornerback with Devin Moore while clear needs at edge rusher sat open.
Pick110
Rnd4
Jaishawn Barham
They paid sticker price for Jaishawn Barham in the 110th pick, and that is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick114
Rnd4
Chris McClellan
A reach for Chris McClellan in No. 114; a little patience would have been rewarded. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick123
Rnd4
Cade Klubnik
Cade Klubnik in pick 123 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick149
Rnd5
Beau Stephens
Fair-plus on Beau Stephens, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick168
Rnd5
Chase Roberts
Chase Roberts slid further than he should have, and slot 168 is lovely value for the wide receiver. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick193
Rnd6
Zane Durant
Zane Durant at the Round 6 slot is money in the bank, a interior defensive lineman taken below his worth. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick195
Rnd6
Bud Clark
A premium they did not need to pay, Bud Clark a notch or two before his time. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
