Draft Grade — Packers
Overall C+
ValueD+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Some hits, some head-scratchers, and a C+ for the Packers.

The Drew Bobo pick is the one that will follow the Packers into the fall. They took him 132 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. Call it a C+ and check back in two years.

The Duff pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.

They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

If Drew Bobo and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.

Pick Analysis
Pick52 Rnd2 Drew Bobo
They reached a country mile for Drew Bobo at pick 52, and the board is aghast. The roster fit checks out.
Pick88 Rnd3 Corey Myrick
They left a pile of value on the table to take Corey Myrick this early at pick No. 88. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick98 Rnd3 Eli Bowen
Eli Bowen at the Round 3 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick114 Rnd4 KJ Duff
Circle this one: KJ Duff at No. 114 is a fall that decides a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick125 Rnd4 Deuce Alexander
The board fumbled Deuce Alexander all the way to Round 4, Pick 23, and they scooped it up. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick159 Rnd5 Peter Clarke
They robbed the room for Peter Clarke here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick170 Rnd5 Anthony Boswell
Anthony Boswell at slot 170 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick171 Rnd5 Anthony Boswell
They will replay Anthony Boswell at pick No. 171 for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick201 Rnd6 Melkart Abou Jaoude
Taking Melkart Abou Jaoude in pick 201 is close to grand larceny; an edge rusher that good had no business lasting this long. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick217 Rnd6 Dezz Ricks
Dezz Ricks at Round 6, Pick 37 is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick241 Rnd7 Bryce Thornton
A quiet steal in the 241st overall pick: Bryce Thornton for less than the market said. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
