Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B-
ValueB+ NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
The Jaguars left with their quarterback, and a B- to match.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how LaNorris Sellers got past him. The Jaguars do not have to explain a thing at the 130th pick. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

Julian Sayin is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. If Mayo pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The Jaguars indulged a want in Mayo while a need in offensive lineman, interior defensive lineman and other spots stayed open.

For all the activity, offensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but offensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick27 Rnd1 Julian Sayin
In the 27th overall pick they get a passer to set the clock by, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
Pick60 Rnd2 Boubacar Traore
A slide stopped in pick No. 60, with Boubacar Traore worth more than the price. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick91 Rnd3 Jalen Mayo
A surprising call. With offensive lineman, interior defensive lineman and other spots still to address, they spent slot 91 on Jalen Mayo, a defensive back they were not short of.
Pick130 Rnd4 LaNorris Sellers
You do not let a quarterback like LaNorris Sellers reach the Round 4 slot and blink. They did not. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick164 Rnd5 Myles Graham
Myles Graham in Round 5, Pick 27 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick173 Rnd5 Williams Nwaneri
Circle this one: Williams Nwaneri at pick 173 is a fall that decides a draft. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick179 Rnd5 Kam Robinson
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Kam Robinson in pick No. 179, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick215 Rnd6 Cayden Lee
Cayden Lee at the 215th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick248 Rnd7 Emmanuel Karnley
A quiet steal in No. 248: Emmanuel Karnley for less than the market said. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
