Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
Quarterback settled, Manning in the fold, and a B- for the Falcons.

The Falcons did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Damon Wilson II fell into the 113th pick. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

So much rides on Arch Manning that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. They will need Laloulu to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick14 Rnd1 Arch Manning
In slot 14 they get a long-term answer under center. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick45 Rnd2 Iapani Laloulu
A big swing on Iapani Laloulu at the 45th overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick76 Rnd3 Zach Lutmer
They paid sticker price for Zach Lutmer in the Round 3 slot, and that is fine. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick113 Rnd4 Damon Wilson II
Damon Wilson II at the 113th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick189 Rnd6 Demond Williams Jr.
Demond Williams Jr. in pick No. 189 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick218 Rnd6 Isaiah Sategna III
The board fumbled Isaiah Sategna III all the way to Round 6, Pick 38, and they scooped it up. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick220 Rnd6 Eugene Wilson III
Eugene Wilson III slipping to pick 220 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick235 Rnd7 Payton Pierce
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Payton Pierce in slot 235. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
