Draft Grade — Colts
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Colts won the night they stopped Raridon from sliding. Grade: B-.

You can usually follow a front office's logic. This one is harder. The Colts spent the 113th pick on Jalon Kilgore while quarterback, offensive lineman and other spots sat unaddressed. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

On value alone, Raridon makes the weekend a net positive. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick47 Rnd2 Brandon Cisse
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Brandon Cisse at pick 47. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick78 Rnd3 Deontae Lawson
By-the-book stuff, Deontae Lawson at the 78th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
Pick113 Rnd4 Jalon Kilgore
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Jalon Kilgore adds a cornerback and leaves quarterback, offensive lineman and other spots untouched.
Pick156 Rnd5 Eli Raridon
You do not let a tight end like Eli Raridon reach the Round 5 slot and blink. They did not. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick214 Rnd6 David Gusta
David Gusta in No. 214 is fair value, right on his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick249 Rnd7 Eli Heidenreich
Eli Heidenreich at Round 7, Pick 33 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick254 Rnd7 Desmond Reid
No drama and no debate, Desmond Reid went about where he belonged in pick No. 254. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
