Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall C
ValueB NeedB- TradesF FutureC+
Stukes should have been long gone. The Dolphins pounced, and earned a C.

The phones were a trap the Dolphins kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. It nets out a thoroughly average C.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Landing Stukes that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

They will need Jatta to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

If Caleb Downs and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.

Pick Analysis
Pick11 Rnd1 Caleb Downs
In pick No. 11 they get a centerfielder for the defense, and a steal at that.
Pick35 Rnd2 Kenyon Sadiq
Kenyon Sadiq slid further than he should have, and pick 35 is lovely value for the tight end. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick87 Rnd3 Sam Roush
They paid sticker price for Sam Roush in No. 87, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick90 Rnd3 Brian Parker II
Brian Parker II at slot 90 is a conviction pick that outran the value. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick111 Rnd4 Bryce Lance
The board had cheaper options than Bryce Lance at the Round 4 slot, and it noticed. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick112 Rnd4 Treydan Stukes
They robbed the room for Treydan Stukes here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick149 Rnd5 Jalen Farmer
Jalen Farmer at slot 149 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick182 Rnd6 Xavier Nwankpa
No drama and no debate, Xavier Nwankpa went about where he belonged in Round 6, Pick 3. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick215 Rnd6 Thaddeus Dixon
Thaddeus Dixon at the Round 6 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick227 Rnd7 Isaiah Jatta
They left a pile of value on the table to take Isaiah Jatta this early at the 227th pick. It fills a real need, too.
Pick238 Rnd7 Cole Payton
They took Cole Payton at par in the 238th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
