Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB- TradesA+ FutureA-
Nobody dealt better than the Dolphins this weekend: B+.

The Dolphins ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. The bottom line is a respectable B+.

They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. The Cisse pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with wide receiver, edge rusher and other spots still on the board. The cost of the Klubnik reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Orange at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick15 Rnd1 Mansoor Delane
In the 15th pick they get a potential shutdown corner, outstanding value to boot.
Pick43 Rnd2 Brandon Cisse
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went cornerback with Brandon Cisse while clear needs at wide receiver, edge rusher and other spots sat open.
Pick75 Rnd3 Austin Barber
A premium they did not need to pay, Austin Barber a notch or two before his time. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick87 Rnd3 Domonique Orange
The board had Domonique Orange higher than slot 87, and the interior defensive lineman fell to them anyway. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick90 Rnd3 Zakee Wheatley
Zakee Wheatley at the 90th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick111 Rnd4 Cade Klubnik
Cade Klubnik at Round 4, Pick 11 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick149 Rnd5 Jalen Farmer
The board had cheaper options than Jalen Farmer at the Round 5 slot, and it noticed. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick227 Rnd7 Miles Kitselman
Good price on Miles Kitselman in No. 227, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
