Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB- TradesA FutureB
The Dolphins let TeSlaa fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Dolphins watched Isaac TeSlaa slide 20 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. With edge rusher, running back and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on safety is the choice that costs them.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick34 Rnd2 Derrick Harmon
Fair-plus on Derrick Harmon, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick48 Rnd2 Xavier Watts
Good price on Xavier Watts in No. 48, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick51 Rnd2 Trey Amos
Trey Amos in pick No. 51 is fair value, right on his grade. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick65 Rnd3 Omarr Norman-Lott
They paid sticker price for Omarr Norman-Lott in the 65th pick, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick87 Rnd3 Mason Taylor
Mason Taylor at Round 3, Pick 23 is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick98 Rnd3 Tai Felton
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tai Felton. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick116 Rnd4 Joshua Farmer
Joshua Farmer in slot 116 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick135 Rnd4 Malachi Moore
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending the 135th overall pick on Malachi Moore with edge rusher, running back and other spots unsolved.
Pick150 Rnd5 O'Donnell Fortune
By-the-book stuff, O'Donnell Fortune at slot 150 squarely in line with his ranking. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick154 Rnd5 Tyler Shough
A tidy bit of business in the Round 5 slot, where Tyler Shough graded well above the range. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick155 Rnd5 Seth McLaughlin
They jumped the gun on Seth McLaughlin, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick224 Rnd7 Desmond Watson
A straight-up fair deal on Desmond Watson at pick 224, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick231 Rnd7 Jermari Harris
Jermari Harris at the 231st pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick253 Rnd7 Isaac TeSlaa
Isaac TeSlaa at No. 253 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
