Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall B
ValueB NeedB- TradesA+ FutureB-
The Dolphins won the night they stopped Ransom from sliding. Grade: B.

Somebody in the Round 4 slot was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Dolphins sat still while Lathan Ransom, the No. 103 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Jahdae Barron
In the 20th pick they get a lockdown presence outside. More want than need.
Pick48 Rnd2 T.J. Sanders
Value with a capital V on T.J. Sanders in the 48th overall pick, a genuine coup. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick51 Rnd2 Wyatt Milum
They paid a round early for Wyatt Milum in slot 51, more than the board wanted. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick98 Rnd3 Dylan Fairchild
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Dylan Fairchild. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick116 Rnd4 Jamaree Caldwell
Jamaree Caldwell at pick 116 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick135 Rnd4 Lathan Ransom
Lathan Ransom at the Round 4 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick150 Rnd5 Pat Bryant
A straight-up fair deal on Pat Bryant at Round 5, Pick 12, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick155 Rnd5 Logan Brown
A reasonable price with a little left over, Logan Brown in pick No. 155. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick224 Rnd7 Jordan Hancock
Jordan Hancock at No. 224 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick231 Rnd7 Cam Jackson
By-the-book stuff, Cam Jackson at slot 231 squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick253 Rnd7 Isaac TeSlaa
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 253, where Isaac TeSlaa graded well above the range. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
