The Dolphins won the night they stopped Mateer from sliding. Grade: F. Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Dolphins, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. There is no dressing it up: a F.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Rodriguez has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.
Getting Mateer where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
In the end, a class that has to defy its grades just to matter.
