Draft Grade — Bears
Overall A-
ValueB NeedB- TradesA+ FutureA+
Johnson should have been long gone. The Bears pounced, and earned a A-.

The Bears ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A- to show for it.

A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want. Landing Johnson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Marvin Harrison Jr. and all.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Marvin Harrison Jr.
In the 1st overall pick they get a go-to option on the outside at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick32 Rnd1 Taliese Fuaga
In the 32nd pick they get a long-term starter on the line. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick64 Rnd2 Jordan Morgan
A tidy bit of business in slot 64, where Jordan Morgan graded well above the range. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick69 Rnd3 Brandon Dorlus
The board had Brandon Dorlus higher than pick No. 69, and the edge rusher fell to them anyway. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick95 Rnd3 Tyleik Williams
Fair-plus on Tyleik Williams, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick105 Rnd4 Cam Hart
Cam Hart at pick 105 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick128 Rnd4 Cedric Gray
A reasonable price with a little left over, Cedric Gray in pick No. 128. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick142 Rnd5 Tykee Smith
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Tykee Smith in the 142nd overall pick. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick183 Rnd6 Fabien Lovett
They did well to land Fabien Lovett in slot 183, just ahead of his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick226 Rnd7 Cornelius Johnson
The board fumbled Cornelius Johnson all the way to pick 226, and they scooped it up. A need, and now a little less of one.
