Draft Grade — Bears
Overall A-
ValueB NeedB- TradesA+ FutureA+
The Bears let Sainristil fall into their laps, and walked away with a A-.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Mike Sainristil tumbling to the Bears in No. 183 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. This is how you run a draft, and the A- reflects it.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Adding Tyler Linderbaum by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

It is a haul that will look even better come September.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Marvin Harrison Jr.
In slot 1 they get a go-to option on the outside at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick32 Rnd1 Emeka Egbuka
In pick No. 32 they get a home-run threat at receiver. A real need, handled.
Pick64 Rnd2 Brandon Dorlus
Brandon Dorlus at the 64th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick69 Rnd3 Denzel Burke
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Denzel Burke in the Round 3 slot. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick105 Rnd4 Spencer Rattler
Spencer Rattler is a better player than the 105th overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick128 Rnd4 James Williams
By-the-book stuff, James Williams at Round 4, Pick 28 squarely in line with his ranking. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick142 Rnd5 Smael Mondon Jr.
The board had Smael Mondon Jr. higher than No. 142, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick183 Rnd6 Mike Sainristil
Circle this one: Mike Sainristil at pick 183 is a fall that decides a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick226 Rnd7 Marques Cox
Marques Cox at the 226th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
