Draft Grade — Lions
Overall
B

FutureB-
The Lions let Higgins fall and pounced. Final grade: B. This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Jayden Higgins, the No. 58 name on the board, stolen at slot 102.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. They will need Marshall Jr. to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Mike Green
In the 28th overall pick they get a double-digit-sack hope at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick60
Rnd2
Jihaad Campbell
A linebacker of that caliber at pick 60 is the definition of value, full stop. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick102
Rnd3
Jayden Higgins
Somehow Jayden Higgins was still sitting there in the 102nd pick, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick130
Rnd4
Jake Majors
They took Jake Majors at par in pick No. 130, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick196
Rnd6
Jason Marshall Jr.
They paid up for Jason Marshall Jr. at No. 196 when waiting would have done the job. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick228
Rnd7
Akili Arnold
They did well to land Akili Arnold in slot 228, just ahead of his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick244
Rnd7
Cam Horsley
Cam Horsley in Round 7, Pick 28 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
